I'm all for protecting Goff and I haven't seen many people say the Oline isn't an issue anymore. Just not quite as big an issue as it was.
Unless he just falls off a cliff or gets injured Whitoworth alone upgrades the entire Oline.
Having said that, The Oline at the end of 2015 started to play reasonably well. Then they went backwards last year, so I get with the additions why people may suspect it's going to get better.
The fact is we have new coaching staff and we kinda have to trust they know what they're doing, otherwise we're royally screwed.
I'm in no way disagreeing with protecting Goff at all costs but my points were this:
- A number of people raised the some concerns you did. So a couple of posters saying they think the need is reduced is really neither here nor there
- FA acquisitions do work and we had success taking a Pats reject only last year, so for anybody to say it's nuts to think a player they let go will offer significant value, doesn't hold water
Ok, so it didn't work, but it shows that the coaches agree that we need more OIline help.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
