They're not going to be a good enough football team to make a favorable schedule a useful factor.
I am hoping, however, that they show enough progress and promise to make me actually pay close attention to such things next year. It's been a long time.
I don't think you know how good a football team they are going to be. I bet before the 1999 season you said the same thing.
1973, Chuck Knox's 1st year the Rams were picked for 3rd in the NFC West and they ended up winning the NFC West with a 12-2 record.
If the Rams can have a productive offense and the defense is effective under Wade Phillips then all bets are off.
Grits
Wade can and I believe WILL help this defense BUT the elephant in the room is Goff. If he plays like last year not only are they sunk but back in the QB market.
If he improves dramatically THEN all things are possible.
It begins and ends with the QB in this league...
I think that it all begins with the HC in this league.
The better HC's and their staffs can make even a journeyman QB, and all other players, quite effective.
I predict that many of our second and third year players are gonna have a "miraculous" improvement this year under this new coaching staff. Mark my words.
Having said that, yeah, Goff needs to show big improvement if this O expects to contribute to a winning season.
