It’s almost the complete opposite on offense. To me that speaks of something larger than the ability to identify talent. It speaks of an inability to maximize talent on the offensive end. IOW, a coaching failure. It’s an inability to develop them or to put them in position to succeed.
It doesn’t seem possible to bat 100% on D picks and 0% on O draftees. There is more going on.

But this idea of an inability to maximize talent on the offensive end is not just something some fans came up with. The sentiment is shared by none other than Kevin Demoff.
In fact, the phrase “maximize talent” I stole from him. He stated that in an interview right after Fisher was fired and while Snead was on the hot seat. The fact that they fired Fisher and kept Snead is very telling.
It’s just interesting that when Fisher has a competent defensive staff, the talent looks good on that end. For the disparity in results to be so lopsided on D vs. O simply screams, “this is much more than a talent issue!”
