These are the sad scenarios that I think of when I reflect on how the Rams approached free agency in the past.
They always seemed to get it wrong, and I think it was because of an institutional inability to evaluate talent: the inability to identify young ascending players and make appropriate monetary offers assuring that they get those players, and overpaying for older players coming off decent seasons while playing for their last big contracts (Jamie Duncan, Jason Sehorn, etc.).
They have just invested in the wrong players (Drew Bennett) unfortunately.
