If Wichmann could have done it, my guess is he would have been starting already.
I hate going into the draft with a need because you're easily leapfrogged and almost always have to trade up to get the player you want to ensure that doesn't happen.
Now if we like Rouiller and Fuller and Toth as much as Pocic and Elflein, that's fine ... but if not, that takes a prime pick from us ... we want to be able to wait until round 4. But we may not be able to.
Now if you are the Rams and want the best Center in the draft, who gives you the best chance for any rookie to start week 1, you will have to take Elflein at #37. Really like the player but I know the Rams would be passing on higher ranked players overall to fill a need. So no, I don't like the pick at all at #37.
I`m looking at Roullier on day 3. Even then, what makes me even think he, or any of the other day 3 center in this draft are ready to step in and start from week 1? it would be wishful thinking on my part.
I think the Rams are going to continue to watch the waiver wires, continue to look at the free agent market and possibly look to trade for a Center. Even if its a guy that was a backup with some experience that could compete with a draft pick. Its not a position the Rams want to be weak at heading into the season. I expect them to do something outside of just the draft. It may not be a name that gets us too excited, but there will be competition for the position come late July.
