Point is: comparing FA dollars to FA dollars only means something when you look at what the roster under contract currently is.

The other thing to consider is that there IS no more expensive way to fill out a roster than through FA. You do NOT get good value in general unless you get a lower tier guy to perform well, or an older vet at good price who has a good year or two left.
