In fact, charges like these are often dropped by the girlfriend, and/or testimony recanted, when she understands that the money she's getting is going to end if her professional athlete baby-daddy finds himself without a job.
By Pro standards $500,000 a year may not sound like much. But for any average person, a cool half-mil per year is a LOT of money.
