I agree. And overall I think Boudreau coached well through 2015. Havenstein, Wichmann and Brown all played well as rookies. Havenstein was All-Rookie. He squeezed as much out of Barnes as he could in 2015.

Robinson and Battle were just misses. Plain and simple. I never liked the Donnal pick and have doubts he makes the team this year.

The OL was horrendous last year and like others said I think it was a lot of factors. One being the scheme and how passive and predicable it was plus the lack of passing game threats. Why Barnes, Havenstein, Wichmann and Brown didn't progress is unknown. In Havenstein's case I think him missing all of OTAs and camp/preseason hurt his development. I do think late in the year after the Dolphins and Saints games much of the team quit on Fisher.

I've always felt you start improving your roster by replacing the bottom 3 players out of your starting 22. And to me Robinson and Barnes are two of those three. Though I would keep Barnes as the backup center/interior OL.

Minor disagreement: I thought Donnal did well last year, considering. And initially I didn't like the pick.

Also, Hav got hurt during the season and was playing the last games hurt. They say that in effect he was playing on one leg.

I agree with your agreement about the OL being the result last year of a lot of factors. Boudreau could be one of them but that's hard to sort out. It was other things too. Here's another possible factor...from JT's chat:

with all the logistics involved in the move, I think they were a tired team at the end of the season.

So that's just another factor.

In terms of what it means re: the OL for this year? It is so hard to say. Whatever was ailing them last year is probably not a factor any more, but how much do they have in terms of viable talent and what can be made out of them? I don't know, that is very up in the air. It will be interesting to watch.

I also agree that nothing that went wrong in 2014 and 2015 can be put on Boudreau. I think some people are charging him with stuff he's not guilty of for those years.
