CROMWELL21
Rams pretty much insulted Shanahan when they interviewed McVay first.
And it is hard to tell if this is true or not as it is just some guy's tweet and he may be paraphrasing, but that would be the second hint that Shanahan could be a difficult guy to share a building with. The other (for me) was the report that he came across arrogant in interviews.
There were also many reports that he has a very thin skin. Had to surround himself with yes men in Washington. Being insulted by not being interviewed first supports the thin skin theory.
I wanted him but now have my doubts.
I have to say I am a bit taken aback that a perspicacious poster like yourself would lend any credence to this gossip rag reporting.
I would anyone outside know how to discern what/who "yes men" are?
If they are your position coaches isn't their a thin line between being subordinate and insubordinate??
The adage ‘Where there is smoke there is fire’ comes to mind. I’m not saying I’m against him; he was my first choice. I just have doubts now… Too much smoke surrounding him.
I don’t know if he was insulted, I don’t know if he surrounded himself with yes men, or if he really came across as arrogant. But having all of those things reported isn’t good.
BTW, on the yes men charge, it’s been weeks since I read about that but I seem to recall the whispers were coming from people inside the organization. IOW, people with knowledge…
I have never heard of anybody not wanting to work with him, have you? THAT would concern me more.
Btw, since we're talking adage there is also one that says "if somebody ain't upset with you, you ain't doing something right".
I like that one.
Belicheat, Walsh, Lombardi, Parcells Harbaugh what do they all have in common?
I know your wise enough to put that together, but hey...we will rally around Sean McVay and hope for the best!
Best,
Laram
