This will set up an interesting dynamic going forward. The Rams bypassed him because they fell in love with McVay and apparently had him as a lower priority than McDaniels too.
I guess we're going to find out who got it right, or at least less wrong, with a front seat view along the way.
The way I see it, the 49ers are one of the few organizations that are as, if not more, dysfunctional than the Rams. So, the Broncos passing on him and the 49ers choosing him is significant validation that the Rams did the right thing in not choosing him. Whether they did the right thing in hiring McVay is another question, but I think indications are they did the right thing in passing on Shanahan.
