Here is the link, and a quote from Fearless Leader. This is ALL business for him, and this was from a sports business conference.

Kroenke Quote

He said: “For me, being an individual owner, I have to have some sort of
reality involved.

“If you want to win championships then you would never get involved.

“I think the best owners in sports are the guys that sort of watch both
sides a bit.

“If you don’t have a good business then you can’t really afford to go out
and get the best players unless you just want to rely on other sources of
income.”

Thanks for the link...

When I read the article I think he’s saying that the business side is priority number one. That doesn’t preclude having a second goal of contending for a SB. In fact, Demoff has stated that having a winning football product, aka contending for a SB, is good for business. So a logical and accurate reading of what he’s saying is: Goal 1: sound business, Goal 2: winning football product.

His own words verify that.

“The best owners are interested in both sides.” You may have missed the word both…

His statement regarding being able to afford the best players obviously shows he has an interest in obtaining the best players. Why would that be? Clearly, it’s because you need the best players for a winning football product.

I think you are incorrect when you say that the business side is “all that matters to Kroenke.” His own words that you cite show that he’s interested in the business and football side and they both feed each other.

It seems to me that he and Demoff understand that a winning football product – creating a winning culture like the team he idolizes in NE - is a subset of sound business. He’s just unwilling to make winning a higher priority than fiscal responsibility.
