If you intercept the ball and your momentum carries you into the end zone, the ball comes out to the place where the ball was intercepted. If you recover a fumble and your momentum carries you into the end zone, it would be a safety according to the old rules. They make so many changes to the rules anymore that I can't keep up with them, but that play would have been a safety according to the old rules. There was a play perhaps 15 or 20 years ago in which someone dove on a fumble and slid into the end zone. It was ruled a safety.
