I guess it all depends on how long a Rams fan you have been. I fell in love with the horns in '72. They had the best unis, the Fearsome Foursome and Roman Gabriel. I think my favorite player at the time was Jack Snow. He looked a lot like me and we played the same position. Merlin and Deacon were awesome. I became a fan. Later, we had Hacksaw, Harold Jackson, mcCutcheon Youngblood and Dryer. Heroes over the years. But, my favorite was ED. Every carry was pure excitement and when he had a seam he was gone. We had a terrific OL for him and a tremendous D every year but he was a giant star and put up numbers that still haven't been matched. He earned every conceivable accolade because he was the best pure runner ever. Now, the Rams management team didn't want to pay him as the top RB in the game even when he ran for 2,105 yards. They traded him away. That was a very long time ago but as a fan I still remember the pain. ED may not be the best reporter but he was the best runner and my all time favorite. He deserves respect.
Well...i respect your memories. I was a huge fan of Snow, myself.
