I have to agree with Alyo on this issue
Tru did get banged up during the season. What player doesn't? He had two concussion type incidents?
They had to gamble on keeping one of the two corners.
Front office went with Tru.
Not retaining him creates a wretched hole in the secondary.
The one point that Alyo made.
Filling that position doesn't solve roster deficiency. It adds to it.
I'd like to keep Tru, Kenny, and McDonald
Frustrating that the first WR to get in the top 10 would be allowed to escape. This defense has long needed an offensive unit to keep them off the field, and allow them to play downhill. The last of the season finally saw that scoreboard position, and it felt like they were exhausted at that point. And failed to hold their own.
Whatever McVay and Phillips decide are beyond me, however the club must have some ideas of direction already. Snead and Demoff know this roster, and have had some discussion of free agency.
and of all things. The height that both Tru and Kenny have are important. The new QB doesn't have many tall WRs to go to. Britt is that. Tru is the tallest of the secondary. Again, not at all comfortable relying on Joyner, and Gaines as the primary corners.
Cooper and Austin are small. Spruce is an unknown. The drops are killer, of course. Mike Thomas had one of the worst. Is Quick even in this conversation? Marquez hasn't shown anything, and McRoberts needed a season to develop.
Britt sure appears to be a retention player; and so does Tru. Britt isn't part of the problem. Gurley and his offensive line? Now that's a problem.
