Last year couldn't pass the ball
Recently the Falcons, 49ers, and Ravens have won or participated in SBs and not been dominant passing teams
I think what is clear is that many factors contribute to teams winning a SB. Having a top flight QB is certainly helpful but obviously not the only way to do it
It is the exception to the rule that you can win it all in this league without a top notch QB and potent passing game.
Someone posted the QBs in the AFC who reached the SB the last 10-15 years. Look it up.
I bet you it does not look a lot different on the NFC side.
The year the 49ers reached the SB Kaepernick was a dual threat from the QB position, he did it all, with his legs and arm.
Manning last season was not the Manning of old but he still could make the play when it was needed on a regular basis.
When the Falcons were going to the SB they had Vick who just like Kaepernick could do it all. Those teams lived off their QBs and the damage they could do in the running and passing game.
If you construct a team like the Rams are doing now with a new HC you should put heavy emphasis on the QB and the passing game if you want to be good for a long time and not only a flash in the pan.
The QB stays, the good to great defenses usually do not stay in place for too long.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
