I don't know what he had to work with and he was able to keep his job and has had steady employment for a long time. But its not encouraging that he is coming from a defense that was so ineffective. Hard to think he was part of the solution. That said, Waufle had a bunch of first rounders on the the DL and it wasn't necessarily fearsome... so could Johnson do as well with what Waufle had? Idk... Not encouraged by it but I don't know enough to be too concerned about it.
Edit. I'm not saying that Waufle isn't a great coach. FWIW
