I know there are rules about interviewing only for upward mobility as certain points of the season and I doubt either would look to leave their current OC positions to be the OC with the rams. But, is it possible to get both of these bright young minds with Shanny as HC and McVay as Asst HC/OC, and still be within the rules?
Is there a way to increase McVays influence beyond that of an OC but less than what Shanny would have?
I picture this like Paul Allen and Bill Gates... Young brilliant minds that work together to form a great offense. Then, yeah. Go get a Wade Phillips to have some serious levelheadedness, and a damn good DC in the mix to help mentor these guys.
If things go well, McVay knows he will get his HC chance in the near future anyway. Would be a win-win.
