Curious, If someone who "knew" what they were doing picked McVay you would be fine with it?
Not saying it's happening but is it your contention that Stan and Demoff are just doing this without
any outside consulting of "football" people? They could be getting help from any number of
"football" guys without anyone ever knowing it. If you have any information that they are doing this
on the fly, seat of the pants, just a feeling kind of coaching choice , I'd like to know .Thanks.
I've already stated my view on any alleged football decision making executives that require going outside to find "football people" rather than simply hiring "football people" to run the football operation. It means they're clueless and have a terrible decision making process that is unlikely to yield positive results.
I want good "football people" who have actual skin in the Rams game making such decisions. People who can be held accountable should they fail. People who's sole objective is the Rams winning championships. If Kroenke and Demoff lack these people inside the organization today, why aren't they bringing one...or more?
So to answer your question, yes, I'd feel good about somebody who knew what they were doing and were doing it as an accountable executive with the Rams making the decision to hire Sean McVay as the Rams next Head Coach. I do not feel comfortable with people who have demonstrated they do not know what they're doing hiring Sean McVay because, for example, they asked Tony Dungy and he said he thought McVay would be great......then went about doing his paid job for NBC.
