Players who lack the ethic, aren't self starters, etc. should be easy to identify before you draft them. The Rams either didn't do their homework or ignored the flaw because of their arrogance and/or need. But he already had a big burning red flag just based on the system he was coming from and you add that on top of it and using the 2nd overall pick on such a player is completely inexcusable. And yes, these are the same people that made the Goff decisions, which should give any critically thinking Rams fan a chill up the spine.
I have to reluctantly agree, 9er8er.
I say reluctantly because I allowed GRob's freakish physical gifts to cloud my vision regarding shortcomings that should have been obvious to scouts after a halfway decent background check.
Remember when Snead was always claiming to look for players that just loved to play the game? Cough, cough... well, GRob was definitely not such a player. In fact, he seems to be a significant part of our "culture problem" on O, doesn't he?
What a draft that might have been...
Mack
Donald
Joyner
One of several quality OL instead of Mason
Alexander
Gaines
Sigh...
