I agree that he is a keeper but
You can't overpay for #3 RBs in the salary cap world. Just be careful with the salary dollars for those kinds of players, because there is nothing left for a front line free agent.
The Rams haven't had a front line free agent for a while. My deal is try to find some money for a difference maker and sometimes that may mean that sacrifices have to be made.
Rams need a play maker Defensive End now that Quinn's career is in a tailspin. The Rams need a WR still. And of course a left tackle.
Go find those players.
The good news is that Demoff knows how to manage those cap numbers, 81. Even his harshest critics will give him that.
I have a couple of off the wall suggestions to free up a little cap money, although many posters might consider them heresy.
Restructure Quinn's salary. Or maybe even trade him away. He's ventured into Long and J Lau territory as far as being overpaid for production.
Another thought is to see if we could offload Tavon to save cap dollars that could be better spent elsewhere. Might have to wait until next year on Tavon, depending on his current salary structure. I dunno.
Both the above might be considerations by the incoming regime.
