You ever see the
Night Gallery episode about the Nazi war criminal living in South America? He wanders into a museum one day and finds a painting of a man in a fishing boat on a quiet lake. He goes back, day after day, and through some sort of otherworldly concentration can will himself into the boat. He is able to stay longer and longer each time. At the end of the episode, the Nazi is tracked down by Israeli agents. it's nighttime and he runs into the museum. In the dark, he kneels in front of the painting and prays that he be allowed to stay in the painting forever. Only ... the painting of the man in the boat has been removed and was replaced by a painting of a crucifixion. The final shot - if I remember correctly - is of the Nazi on the cross.
