The play design was wrong for the situation. Execution was bad too. As it happened I said to myself "wtf?"
4th down and 1 on the 7 yard line and the toss gets into Gurley's hands at the 15 yard line?!?!?! Why? So now he has to go NINE yards against a defense that knows he's getting the ball and what direction he is running. He gets hit by Wagner and another guy nearly two yards from the first down and a swarming SEA defense shut down the play. He had no chance.
So it's easy to say "he should have made that play" but that play was bound to fail. Simply the wrong thing to do in that situation.
Anyway..........something is up with Gurley, he just looks like he has no energy. He looks like a player who is playing with a severe flu virus! Lethargic and sluggish.
