Joe Montana's completion percentage in the pros was 63%. Did you know it was 52% at Notre Dame?
Gee! Wonder what that's all about? Could it be coaching? Could it be scheme? Could it be quality of the talent around him?
Jared Goff is 21.
He has NOBODY to throw.
He gets ZERO coaching.
He gets ZERO protection.
Trust me on this, okay? You consistently pressure ANY quarterback ... any one of them down through time ... and their accuracy will plummet. Now ... go ahead and tell me how well-protected Goff has been this year.
Btw ,,, the accuracy gets worse when that quarterback is attempting to make throws down the field. And not just dump them off to pad a completion percentage.
Add into that the Rams' Division I-AA receivers ... which you used to whine about constantly when somebody else was playing QB ... and it's a witches' brew.
..and perhaps you will be right.
I see a guy SO FAR who when he has time he missed and misses BADLY on throws he should make and does not, through NO FAULT of his OL or receivers. I mean balls that the receiver is open and cannot even come close to getting a hand on.
Is the game too fast for him right now? Probably. Which is why Fisher wasn't playing him imo.
Is it footwork? Maybe. I'm not equipped to analyze him in that regard though I will be interested to hear what others have to say.
I've already read/heard people question his arm strength and "spiral-ability" which is ot he be-all-end-all to me, just saying.
I'm far from closong the book on this kid obviously but to ME he is inaccurate in ways that should at least concern us all.
R.I.P. Nelson aka TonyHunter87 1971 - 2017 far too soon..
Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM
No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
