I get the feeling they're going to make a very strong head coaching hire, whoever it is. Top names are going to line up but in all that mix the question of GM and how they handle it is something I'm more concerned with.
If they bring in a guy like Harbaugh he's going to come in with power. He'll also be part of the hiring decision on the GM side. So that route is probably safer for them to get it right.
But if it's the hot coordinator route, yeah there's no telling on the GM hire side of things. And I do worry about Demoff's judgment there.
Yeah I agree that its management that scars me most. The more I think about it, maybe the better it would be to have two guys that have a history of working well together and winning like DeCosta & John Harbaugh or Caserio and McDaniels. May be tough to pull that off though.
I think if the Rams go the hot coordinator route, Demoff and Kroenke keep Snead. Also remember that Snead and Thomas Dimitroff in Atlanta are good buddies and Kyle Shanahan is their hot OC. This scenario is very worrisome because I`m afraid of the whole Demoff/Snead/Shanahan everyone has their hands in the pot only this time Snead gets the opportunity to be a real GM. I`m not saying he is a bad guy for the job, but I think there are better candidates out there and ones that are not as attached to current upper management in Demoff.
I like Snead but the more I think about it, the more I think he needs to go. He was part of a failing product for the past 5 years. Even if he never had the opportunity to truly do his job, he was still part of it and would be best for the organization to cut ties with him.
