There are those of us who think that landing Harbaugh would itself be the disaster. A few years of winning and then everyone, from the players on up to management, just sick of the guy's act.
There's something about some college coaches who thrive in that world but cannot translate it to the pros. Quite often it's alienating players. The theory is, you can be that way to college players because they cycle through and they are, after all, still young. So certain things just don't work with adult veteran players on contract.
I will say this about the SF years. Some say, Kaep was better with Harbaugh. Well that's not what I saw, personally. What I saw was that as long as they had that super-stocked defense and Gore, they were going to win...it wasn't really the qb.
