There he was, dutifully scribbling down "youngest team in the league" and "this will take some time". He ran interference for Fisher almost weekly, right up until it looked like they were moving. Only then was he able to turn on the team and "say what he really thinks".
One of the bigger frustrations I have with Bernie isn't his snarky writing style or that he's now a full-time basher of the Rams, it's that he WAS part of the whole media suckup crew in STL, and he owes maybe just a little mea culpa? That he was taken in, too?
I do agree with Bernie on his assessment of SK's relationship with Fisher, that Fisher was doing what he needed to do to get the Rams out of St. L. It embitters me to think that SK purposefully put up with Fisher's boring losing for years to the detriment of not just the STL fans at the game but all of us. One can only hope it's over now. I'm relieved it didn't even take a full season for SK to have enough of Fisher's continued BS.
