He couldn't save Fisher's job. He'll be the key to the next coach's job.
It is debatable as to whether Fisher, really Snisher, has run the team into the ground or not. By the end of this season, you're going to find that statistically there won't be a lot of difference between the team Snisher built over 5 years and the one they inherited. And that will be despite having a bevy, and then blowing a bevy, of high draft picks and free agent signings.
It's been a total failure and any perceived individual talent they've acquired has happened without any sensible vision or roster building plan. It's just a collection of misfit pieces and the next coach is going to have to lean heavily on that piece they irresponsibly sold and bet the farm on. They need more than just a coach that knows what's he's doing. They need a front office that does too.
