Goff, Keenum, Gurley,Cunningham, Britt, Cooper and Nelson. Everyone else is expendable.
I would not be quick to just start letting players go and I don't think the new coach regime, who every they may be will do so either.
Much of the Rams problems, I believe is coaching.
The offensive line is being poorly coached. The line is very young but they do have talent. I have said all year that their scheme for run blocking doesn't look right. I am not saying a new piece or two could not be added to the line but I don't believe they are a total loss.
Receivers: Rams brought in a bunch of exciting young receivers this past summer and we hardly had the opportunity to see any of them. Again its coaching.
Cooper was a star at University of South Carolina and Higbee a star at his school as well. These guys have recognized ability. They just are not being coached up or utilized. Nelson Spruce has been mysteriously absent due to an alleged injury since the opening pre-season game in which he starred. Yet he made the team. I've seen highlights of Michael Thomas's college career and he looks to be an exciting player yet he is seldom targeted in games.
Brian Quick has stepped it up this season. He may have more big catches this season then I can remember his first few years in the league. Kenny Britt, despite having a bad game in New England last Sunday has for the most part been dependable at catching the ball.
People say Tavon is a bust but the man has talent and he shows it when given a chance. The Rams, going back to Schottenheimer have clearly never been able to utilize Austin because they simply do not know how.
If the Rams can improve in the run blocking next season the offense is going to be so much better. It is the lack of running game that has hurt this offense the most. I do think that Todd Gurley has become tentative in his running because he's expecting to get hit almost immediately. He's lost some of his aggressiveness running the ball.
Yes, a head coach that has better offensive philosophy and better coaches need to be brought in.
