Carr is far ahead not because of his physical ability ... but because of his training ... his training started by sitting in NFL film sessions when his brother was QB
Aren't all of these guys coach's sons or something similar? You wouldn't hold it against Manning for being the son of Archie, would you? Not really sure why you're holding it against Carr that he started learning early.I'm not holding it against him at all. In handling cameras, players, coaches, and the press, he acts like he has been there before ... well, he has
(He is 3rd from the right wearing the white cap.) Derek Carr's NFL career began in 2002 when his brother was drafted. He had 12 years of being on stage before he got drafted. Before being drafted he had 10 years of experience in NFL film breakdown, learning defenses, protections, etc. thus, it isn't his elite physical ability that makes him so good, he is a 25 year old man with 14 years of REAL NFL experience. In understanding the game, he is a full decade ahead of most of the players on the field.
far ahead ... because he has an amazing OL ...
True, a QB will produce more behind a good o-line I think we agree.
Carr is far ahead ... because of the talent level of his WR's ... many of Carr's passes are just alley-oops
Okay, now I really can't agree. What did Crabtree ever do before Carr? Cooper ... isn't a HOF level guy.Carr didn't make Crabtree, the offensive coordinator comes up with plays that exploit Crab's strengths. Cooper hasn't played long enough to be in the HOF ... but his ability to run routes is 2nd to none. Keep in mind, Carr isn't threading needles like Warner, Brady, and Montana did. Carr throws a lot of 50-50 balls, way more often than any other QB I have seen, and Carr admits to this. The WRs have to make a great plays or Carr's passing game isn't successful, and they are
Carr has an amazing HC and an amazing OC which contributes to the players around him being in position to win
"Amazing"? Have their abilities suddenly changed or do they now have a good QB to work with? Unlike Fisher and Bore-us, Del Rio and Musgrave puts their good players in position to win. My skin crawls when I think of Fisher and Bore-us running the Raiders.
I love Carr and he deserves the $20 mill + a year contract he will get next season.
an elite talent at his position. He basically is one already. I agree that he is an elite QB already. He is a Rich Gannon type of elite, not a Kurt Warner or Tom Brady type of elite.
I want this guy wearing Horns: Jordan Westercamp
the video doesn't show how good his hands really are. I think he can be the next Danny Amendola.... with Chris Carter's hands... and then some.
