Carr is far ahead not because of his physical ability ... but because of his training ... his training started by sitting in NFL film sessions when his brother was QB ...
Aren't all of these guys coach's sons or something similar? You wouldn't hold it against Manning for being the son of Archie, would you? Not really sure why you're holding it against Carr that he started learning early.
Carr is far ahead not because of his physical ability ... but because he has an amazing OL ... I haven't seen an OL this good since I watched Stabler play ... look at the stats of how many times Carr has been sacked. Buying your QB time makes him a LOT better.
Doesn't that imply that he's just sitting back there with no pressure? If so, I don't agree at all. True, a QB will produce more behind a good o-line but have there been many great QB's who had a bad o-line? Wasn't Brady a recipient of the same kind of protection early in his career?
Carr is far ahead not because of his physical ability ... but because of the talent level of his WR's ... it pains me to say it, but Cooper and Crabtree are better than Cliff Branch and Fred Biletnikoff was. Yes, Carr is very good, but many of Carr's passes are just alley-oops
Okay, now I really can't agree. What did Crabtree ever do before Carr? He wasn't Calvin Johnson running around making his QB's look better. And, as good as Cooper is, he isn't a HOF level guy. Just because a receiver helps his QB out at times doesn't mean they're carrying him. EVERY great QB has had help from his receivers.
Carr has an amazing HC and an amazing OC which contributes to the players around him being in position to win
"Amazing"? Jack Del Rio is amazing now? Bill Musgrave is amazing? Have their abilities suddenly changed or do they now have a good QB to work with?
I love Carr and he deserves the $20 mill + a year contract he will get next season.
I don't see how any of those reasons explains why Carr won't become an elite talent at his position. He basically is one already. Among his peers, he's a better physical talent than Warner or Montana. He's helped turn around as moribund of franchises as Warner or Montana and he's far outperformed them all statistically.
You may be right and he doesn't win the championships that those guys did, but it's really early in the game for that and nothing has pointed to it not happening. I wouldn't be placing any bets against Carr at this point. I could understand not predicting similar success this early but saying it won't happen is a different barrel of fish.
