It's like when HCs say, "injuries are no excuse"....
but that's absolutely absurd....
IT MATTERS if their star/best players do not play...as it is quite possible that fact
might contribute to a poor outing and a team loss. Sometimes, teams win in spite of that....and every color of gray in between.
This whole "injuries are not an excuse" is just hilarious sports PC gone haywire.
Injuries do MATTER as your team is NOT the same team....
without the best players that define yer team.
Did it matter when we lost 3/4s of our starting DL this year for that (Panther?) game?
Or is that just an excuse.
Sun, couldn't agree more on the injury angle. There's a reason there are 1st string, 2nd string, 3rd string, etc. The 1st stringers are better players. When a team loses their better players to injury, of course it makes a difference. It's absurd to think otherwise.
IMO that's much different than a franchise move. I could get that it might have had an impact early on in the season (28-0 loss to the Whiners?), but we're now 11 games in and we still suck yet Fisher keeps bringing up the move. If he wants to use the move as the reason why we're only going to win 5 games this year versus his high-water mark of 7, then fine. But 7 wins year after year doesn't get it done either.
To me, we have all the evidence we need to know that we need a new coaching regime...5 straight seasons of losing football.
