Yes that bugs me too.... There is no more eliment of surprise anymore what so ever.......
I always thought it would be better idea just to have adjustable goalpost and squeeze it a little tighter for extra points if you want to make it harder for kickers... It wouldn't be hard with today's technology and I'm sure the NFL could afford it.
