I think DE/CB -
whichever is higher rated - will be our BPA
2nd round and
3rd round picks.
Unless, an WR/OL BPA drops and throws a wrench in their plans.IMO - Boras does not create enough space
(I think Rams_81 posted this earlier and I agree) to compensate for any weakness on offense.
It feels like the running game/offense is forced to play a "system" the players are not that good at. I don't know this as I have not studied any film...just looks/feels like it
(which is anecdotal and thus to be taken as such - simply opinion). I wonder if a different blocking scheme might be better geared towards what our guys AND Gurley
do better. Zone vs Man blocking??
I do think that Gurley is hurt a bit but there's simply NOT any holes for him and when there are he hits the seam fast and goes. I see nuthin wrong with Gurley other that he's hurt and might need to sit for a week or two from that thigh bruise.
However, even with CK and all his physical drawbacks, has kept us in games and even able to win. CK has proved that our WRs can be effective if the ball is delivered. Britt IS good and so is Quick...I think Groh is helping the passing game. I even think TA is a valuable threat in the short/intermediate range as a counter for Gurley. I'm very surprised they do not do more reverses & fake reverses between Gurley and TA. Hell, I'd honestly run that nearly every running play...that would put a HUGE stress on a defense as both TA & Gurley are GREAT runners. I almost think we should adopt that
BearRaid/
RunPassOption system with TA or even Cooper constantly in motion for the threat of end-arounds. It would force the defense to play us HARD in the 10yd area...freeing up deeper crossing routes and 15-20yd pass plays that would create space from the LBs.
just spitballin...
