They are going to try to win,
but mostly with Keenum at QB.The move to get Goff was NEVER about this year..........never, ever.
I'm still perplexed why so much time is being spent debating that and the other big topic about why he isn't starting yet.
The Rams DO NOT care about this year. Just like, as Demoff essentially said, they didn't care about last year. We need to remember that he said he was "relieved" the Rams were eliminated from the post season. The focus was sleight of hand on STL and those fans, and the move. Many people will be mad at me for saying this but it's very possible that Fisher will be back next year, and the year after that is a possibility too. Right now my guess is that SK and crew just want to stick to their plan. IMO that plan is play football and let the chips fall where they may and get the stadium built so he can sell PSL's and hot dogs.
This isn't a rebuilding effort right now, this is setting the stage for next year to a degree and then beyond.
As fans we are in a hurry and want wins, we want to see the Rams win every week. Ownership and management of this franchise don't care about what fans want and winning is second to revenues.
When SK bought the remaining shares many posters were very happy, and were certain that Kroenke's billions would bring the Rams success and titles. A few of us, especially those who watch the NBA and NHL tried to warn everyone else. This isn't a guy that cares first and foremost about winning. If he fields a winning team that's great and he isn't unhappy about it but that's not his priority.
Now that said, previous ownership once removed (meaning Georgia not her kids) was also terrible and concerned primarily with money, winning being an afterthought. Yet still the Rams managed to squeeze out a title and a nice little run of good play and winning records.
That can, and very well may happen again.
And it starts with the most important position on the field, QB. Now I know a lot of you guys like to say Fisher can't/hasn't ever developed a QB. In fact that not only isn't true there is evidence that indicates not only can he do it, he has done it and done it more than once. And that was with one of the most meddling owners in the modern era. Some of you guys act like Steve McNair never happened.
If Goff was the right pick, and other than one or two moronic talking heads with NO access, everyone thinks he is........what's the hurry? Let him develop, let the staff bring him along, insert him in games here and there like Fisher did with McNair so he can flourish.
Again, this year NEVER mattered and this pick and how he's being handled proves it. Sorry my fellow Rams fans, this year is a write off, a dry run for the future. Hopefully we catch lightning in a bottle again. We did it once with crap ownership and it can happen again. I know we all love this team, and I hate it as much as anyone else, but they are losing and they don't care what the record is right now, or what it'll be at the end of the year.
