They are really beating up the Rams. VinnyB is all over Fisher, hitting him hard. Vinny said Fisher is too stubborn to see that he doesn't have a playoff team and that's the main reason he won't play Goff.
Vinny also said that Fisher is not good at developing young QBs and went into Fisher's QB history. It wasn't pretty.
ED said he wonders if the "suits" made the decision to make the trade and pick Goff. ED said that's what he was hearing. Vinny said no way, it was all Fisher. He said Fisher went up to Cal to work Goff out and he was raving about him. Vinny said Fisher and Snead went to Kroenke early on to get the trade-up blessed and Kroenke said go for it. Vinny said Fisher massively miscalculated his team, Fisher thought all they needed was a QB and he was so wrong, especially about his OL.
ED went back to the "suits" issue again and said he remembers how John Shaw ruined the Rams. He was insinuating that Demoff was a problem in giving guys like Tavon all that money undeservedly.
ED is saying Boras should not be an OC. He also said the OL isn't getting coach well based on what Jackie Slater told him.
They also had Vince Ferragamo on and Vince said he thinks they should stay with Keenum cause he gives them the best chance to win. Then he said he thinks Fisher is on the hot seat and if he has another losing season he'll be gone.
Big takeaway here was that its pretty unanimous that Fisher is likely gone after this year and they need to bring in someone who can develop Goff cause they don't have that guy now. ED said he has talked to a lot of guys in the league and that's what they all tell him - Rams need to bring in a guy who knows how to develop a young QB cause they don't have him now.
Eric Dickerson was gone in 1987, traded to the Colts because he was never happy with his contract. The Rams had winning season in 88 and 89 so I'm not sure what Eric would know about what happened in 1990 thru 94 because he wasn't in LA.
