there is no situation that exists where a rookie QB is not going to face a little 'extra' adversity when making his debut. So is this situation on the far end of that scale, the "bad" side? I think that's likely. I can say that because when I asked you that question I was NOT saying put Goff in or making a case for doing so.
Should he come in soon, (what I was actually getting at), I'm not sure the downside, (which will exist), is any 'worse' for the Ram's coming success, or failure, than what we're currently experiencing. Which leads too:
Will coming in in this situation damage him mentally, and possibly irreparably.. and here I think we will part. I don't consider that likely, at all in fact. I would never say it's 'impossible' but I think the likelihood slim.... and in fact think that should he come in now (again, not making a case that he should), it may be the PERFECT situation... he's NOT going to take the bulk of the blame with all the pieces around him in chaos. - JamesJM
