Ed Werder said the Broncos should acquire a "game manager" like Keenum to augment their stellar D in order to make another run @ the Super Bowl. He said it would also give them "a bridge QB" and more time to develop Simien and Paxton Lynch.
I don't know if Werder is going by what he hears or if he's just shirt-tailing Field Yates, who said THE SAME EXACT THING on
"NFL Insiders" yesterday. Both pointed out that Keenum played for Kubiak while in HOU and that he thinks highly of Case.
In other words, I don't know if there is anything to this suggestion or if it's just ESPN's attempt to liven up an otherwise dreary trade deadline.
I'd love to see this happen (only because it would give/force JF an excuse to insert Goff into the line-up) but it's probably just pure hyperbole.
I also wouldn't mind picking up a draft pick - no matter how low - so that resigning CK next year becomes less of an option.
Like I said, it's probably just pure speculation. Anyway, it will all be moot once the deadline passes in about an hour.
