there are a lot of teams that win with high penalty counts. It's not the direct correlation stat with winning/losing that many others are, like third down conversion rate, turnovers, scoring defense, etc.

The losses alone are going to be enough to sink this regime, barring a dramatic turnaround where they make the playoffs. Penalties are really a secondary issue, that plus sloppy play and execution that drive me insane as well.
