What I like about McD is he failed once as a head coach. Which means he should know the importance of so many details that are probably easy to overlook when you get your first shot in this league. Dude is headstrong, which can be good and bad, and yeah association with Belichick can be a drawback, since so many of his protégés have failed, but he undeniably knows offense. This team would score points quickly if he is the guy, just bring in another WR through FA.
I see him and Todd Haley similarly. Haley's also a guy who has a strong grasp of offense, and he's gonna be a head coach probably this next season.
Thing is, though, that we're not Kroenke. He has a penchant for veteran coaches. This is why, barring other veteran options being fired, I think he'll go with Mike Shanahan if he doesn't extend Fish.
