Goff will have his time soon enough.
Here's my biggest fear for him....and I would hope & pray that Groh/Weinke drills it into his head....
that when the play is not there and he's confused...THROW IT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!............ immediately.
Otherwise, the kid's competitiveness/grit will
not allow him to give up on a play and he'll hold onto the ball and GET MURDERED....
ACL or broken hand, sternum or shoulder.
In time, Goff will be able to improvise more, but that's why he did so poorly in the PS...he would NOT quit on the play fast enough.
And he looked like a deer in headlights and nearly got broken in two!!
So, I just hope they
(coaches) keep him from
pushing that internal "pocket" clock...
but
only after he's mastered it....
not while he's still learning when to "go for it" and when retreat and live for another play.
