No doubt it has turned off a lot of fans (which I don't understand at all) but this is also a league that is being hurt by several things.
Parity is playing a role and I don't think it gets talked about enough. Half the league is above .500 and half is at or below. Fans lose interest quickly and a lot of saturation on so many nights with crappy football games isn't fun. I binge watched some stuff on Netflix last night and even if I didn't I wouldn't stay up to watch a 3-4 team play a 2-4 team. Had I bothered I would have changed the channel at halftime anyway LOL.
Thursday Night Football just needs to go away and Sunday Night can too as far as I am concerned. Or flex it so it's a good matchup that people will tune into.
Of course none of this is going to happen, the only thing the NFL is going to do is screw over fans by putting more games overseas to make more money.
If I was an executive at one of the networks that was cutting big checks to the NFL I'd be asking for rebates that's for sure.
