I thought heading into this six game stretch starting with Detroit was their chance to show they had grown as an organization. Those six teams- DET, NYG, CAR, NYJ, MIA and NO- were something like a combined 8-21 at the time. It was their chance to show "hey, we're better than mediocre" (by going 4-2 or 5-1). Going 3-3 would say "we're still one of them" and 2-4 or worse is "we're not as good as mediocre teams..". Maybe that's oversimplifying but it's how I saw it. A great opportunity and unless they go 4-0 out of the Bye they squandered it. Heck, if they'd gone 4-2 and gone into New England at 7-4 that game may have been flexed to a 4:25 ET start. And even if they'd lost that game by 25 at 7-5 you're considered solidly in the playoff chase.
It's too bad really. Missed opportunities.
