Jeff Fisher says blame Rams receivers for interceptions, not QB Case KeenumBy VINCENT BONSIGNORE / STAFF WRITER
LONDON – As far as Case Keenum was concerned, the four interceptions he threw Sunday against the New York Giants were his fault.
From the pick-six that went for a back-breaking touchdown in the second quarter to the ball he lofted into no-man’s land that fell into the arms of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to end the Rams’ hopes of a comeback, Keenum took the blame.
“You know, for me, a lot of this, I take full responsibility,” Keenum said. “You can’t turn the ball over in this league. A lot of them led directly to points, if not all of them. I’ve got to be better, I’ve got to take care of the ball.”
Not so fast, said Rams coach Jeff Fisher, who pointed the finger at everyone but Keenum for the interceptions. From inevitable tipped balls to Kenny Britt and Brian Quick not being on the same page with Keenum, seems like Fisher blamed fate and his wide receivers more than his quarterback.
“Take a look at the tape,” Fisher said. “See who’s responsible for the interceptions. Ball is going to get tipped; it happens. Balls get tipped. Brian didn’t get the audible. Kenny Britt stopped on the post. Didn’t think he was primary.”
