Back in 1989, everybody (including the geniuses at Sports Illustrated) went gah-gah for Tony CanadianBoyFromOakville Mandrich. He was going to be a 20 year OT bookend, future HOFer, yadda, yadda yadda
In fact, the Top Five 1989 NFL Draft Picks
Dallas...Troy Aikman
GB...Tony TheIncredibleBulk Mandrich
Detroit....Barry Sanders
KC...Derrick Thomas
Atlanta...Deion Sanders
Other than Mandrich...that's quite a few HOFers there eh!!!
So Greg Robinson is not the first Second-Overall NFL Draft Pick to go sideways okay!!!
But, maybe like Mandrich, some smart NFL Coach (do we have one of those on Los Ramos Staff???) can take Robinson's disappointing performance at LT thus far, and transform him into a very viable and serviceable NFL Offensive Guard, a la as the Serbian kid Mandrich from Oakville, Ontario became....oh yeah, Mandrich played for powerhouse Michigan State Spartans (recruited by then MSU DB Coach Nick Saban....who knew?).
I'd move Saffold back to LT and tell him to earn his big bucks and move GRob inside.
Question: Could it be any worse than it is right now??
