We are currently ranked #31 as an O..
Not really.
If you rightfully don't count the first 2 games (because they have improved since those 2 games) the offense is more like 19th.
And...this is not an argument for or against starting Goff either way.
It's an argument for getting a clear picture of where this offense actually stands.
...
I get the "last 3" argument, zn.
Establishes a trend, kinda.
But my counter would be that we are 1-2 in our last 3 games. Both winnable, btw.
Any way we slice it, we are headed for 8-8 unless something changes.
I favor putting the kid in after the bye. But that's just my opinion, of course.
That's not a counter to anything though, 43. Since, first, no one said they won more games, and 2nd, none of this has anything to do with Goff.
All that got said was this: statistically the Rams offense in general improved in many important areas since the 1st 2 games. That's mostly due to improvements in the passing game.
No one said the running game improved, that the defense improved, or the Rams won more games.
Taking this as a move in a Goff debate to me is just beside the point.
I am on record as saying I don't care when Goff starts---and that was before the season. Week 1, Week 8, doesn't matter to me. I just accept that he will start when they think he's ready.
So I am not embroiled in some invisible argument about which qb should be starting. I have no agenda that way. I don't have to downgrade Goff just to pump up Keenum and I don't have to downgrade Keenum just to pump up Goff.
Would the improvements I noted continue with Goff playing (assuming he's ready)? My guess is, yes, probably, more or less. That's because I don't think they have to do with just the qb. It's the receivers. the gameplans, defenses respecting Gurley no matter what, and so on. It's a combination of things.
So I have no ulterior reason to SAY the offense improved in the last 4 games, and I have no ulterior reason to DENY they improved in the last 4 games Just stating facts.
And if the problem is the defense, then starting either Goff or Keenum makes no difference in the record. So it's not about that for me, either.
