You'll say look at the talent added. I'll say how hard is it to add talent when you have top 10 picks year after year and multiple first rounders.

It's not the talent added...it's the talent he squandered.

I doubt that we will ever know exactly how much Snead was involved in the actual draft pick final decisions, je.

But here's my best guesses as to the relationship dynamics between Fisher and Snead...

Snead found and prioritized talent up and down the board based upon the type of players that Fisher desired.

Fisher had final say at all times with no interference from anyone, including Kroenke and Demoff.

The premium picks were 100% Fisher's.

As the rounds progressed, Fisher probably increasingly deferred to Snead's preferences.

By the time of the late rounds and certainly into UDFA it was probably 100% Snead's call.

I can prove none of the above, of course. But common sense plus my gut tells me that I'm probably right. Interestingly, the Rams have had very good success with late rounders and the UDFA's. So there is that.

Now, picking a player in the top two rounds is one thing, but quickly developing them is quite another issue entirely. Snead should not be held responsible for a player development problem. A topic for a different thread, IMO.

I'll just say this. I'm a big Snead fan. I think that he should be retained if Fisher were released. I think Snead is the best talent evaluator that the Rams have had since Klosterman of the seventies. A span of 40 years, mind you.
