I fully admit that Case is limited. I long for a strong armed franchise QB, and hope that Goff is the long term answer. However I feel that this team is good enough to win with Case, if he doesn't turn the ball over ( which he usually doesn't) and the OL plays better. That being said I feel the strong Goff desire is because of how well other inexperienced QB's are doing. I have seen zero evidence that Goff is ready. I can't recall one preseason game where Goff was not the third best QB in a Ram's jersey. Case is good enough to get us to the playoffs this year barring injuries. To put Goff in now would be throwing away the season. Goff's possessions in the preseason were dumpster fires, let the kid learn.
This team may be able to win if Keenum doesn't turn the ball over. Generally, a game manager is supposed to be someone who doesn't lose games for you and limits mistakes. However, Keenum IS turning the ball over. He now has 4 TDs, and 5 INTs. Two of those INTs are pick-6s. Egregious mistakes of that nature just can't be allowed. Keenum is too limited to overcome that type of error. That's the type of mistake that got Austin Davis fired a couple of seasons ago.
Your assessment of Goff is based on old information. The last time you've seen him was a third of the season ago. At that time, Fisher said he wasn't ready; now Fisher says he is ready. That should be some evidence that he's ready.
You are completely exaggerating how bad Goff's performance in the preseason was. I disagree with the categorization as abysmal or "dumpster fire."
I think the strong desire for Goff to play is born out of a recognition that he projects to be a whole lot better than Keenum. It has zero to do with any other rookies and how they are performing. People have been clamoring for Goff to play since before the season started.
Keenum has only thrown for a TD in 2 of the 5 games played. This level of performance isn't not enough to get us to the playoffs especially when you factor in his turnovers which I mentioned above.
