Keenum is a nice guy and a great teammate.
Wonderful intangibles and easy to root for.
However...
He is a limited QB with a low ceiling.
Here are his '16 stats YTD. [

The numbers don't lie.
Given our excellent D and ST, we should be able to win 8-9 games with Keenum. I think...
But let's don't kid ourselves. There was a reason that S&F traded away 6 premium picks in 2 drafts to acquire Goff.
Yeah, Keenum can do some things now that Goff cannot. Not yet, anyway. But Goff can do some things now that Keenum cannot. And never will. The ceiling and upside of Goff is far higher that Keenum's in the months and years ahead.
So, do we want to remove the bandaid slooooowly with great discomfort? Or do we want to do it swiftly with minimal discomfort?
The minute that Fisher decides that Goff is "ready", is the minute that Fisher will, and should, make the change. We all know that it's just a question of time.
Game 6?
Game 8?
Next year?
I think sooner is better than later in this case. Let's roll with the rookie.
