The reason BC is more effective is he's quicker in tight quarters. He can move laterally from one gap to another quickly.

Last year in the Vikes game you could see that Peterson had impressive lateral quickness and patience whereas Gurley really doesn't have that at the same level. Gurley can react to guys when he's on the move but behind the LOS he's not as nifty. The comparison with Peterson made that all stand out.
