U R right he has shown he can hit that occasionally
!
I am going to be very blunt here.
You are just dead wrong about that.
By league standards on passes like that he has a good completion percentage.
He's good at it. He hits them regularly, again by league standards.
You do know that with passes of 31 yards or more a completion percentage of 50% is rare.
Where did you get those stats?
Would really surprise me if that is true.
And is there a reference to balls that travel in the air or yac?
Because it makes a difference in that discussion if the pass/completion was a screen pass or a bomb like the one to TA yesterday.
Go rams!
I've been doing the stats on long passes for years now.
It's simply a matter of going to espn splits and doing the work.
Which as I said I've done for years now.
AND the numbers on splits for the passing ranges (1-10 yards, 11-20 yards etc) is all for the ball in the air only. They do not include RAC. A screen pass that gets yards counts for the qb as a throw behind the LOS.
Really, you're talking to one of the few people I know who does the work on qb split stats, posts them, and has being doing it since I can remember.
I;ve been posting comparative looks at qbs and the long ball on several boards going way back.
If you want, when I have time (later this week?) I will give you percentages on different qbs.
Name 10 qbs who you think are good at the long ball and I will do their numbers for this year and last year combined. It's an easy formula, you just need the time to do the numbers.
Honest. Name 10 qbs. Later this week I will show you the numbers.
